Security Survey
After 9/11 many people became concerned about security. The United States government did a security survey to find out if country was prepared for another attack. The results of the security survey found this country lacking in preparedness. The security survey done by the United States is only one example of how a security survey can be used.
A security survey can be anything from an assessment done using a check list of options to an actual survey of questions given to a group of people. During the 9/11 many television stations used a security survey to see how the nation felt. The security survey used by the television stations was based on a series of questions designed to see whether the people thought another attack could happen or if the people thought our nation was secure.
The results of the security survey showed that at the time there was nervousness among people that at any time a second wave of attacks could come. As a result of 9/11 many companies and other agencies like the airports also used an assessment type of security survey to see how they measured up to both internal as well as external security.
The results of the security survey done by most of the highly vulnerable companies showed that they were not ready in the event something would happen. Even the employees of these companies were given a security survey and asked to answer such questions as do the employees feel they are working in safe environment or do they feel they lack in protections from disgruntled coworkers or outside influences.
These are only some of the ways a security survey can be used. We live in a changed world so from this point on the security survey will be a part of not only our personal lives but also our professional lives as companies and the government try to make it a safe environment for us to live in.
